How to make an original looking protogen oc? Is it even possible, or they'll always look like a knock offs of each other?

anyway I've got the idea. Make the protogen look like Sonic character. Might look cool. I'm not really good at drawing furries and sonic characters so I'll share this idea here I guess

It's pretty simple Sonic's head is a straight up circle and his limbs are sticks. His body is a bean, his feet are like eggs cut in half, and his hair and ears are triangles, I'd hardly say that's a challenge.
Just take it a step at a time and use a reference and you'll do fine.
